Brewing Instructions For Various Brewers

Pourover instructions

  • Grind Size: Medium-fine
  • Taste: Less body, very clean flavor
  • Preparation Time: 2-3 minutes from the first pour
  • Preferred coffees: All roasts
  • Coffee to Water Ratio: 8-12g per 100ml water
  • Tip: One of the best ways to make coffee at home, but the barista skill will influence the taste a lot

1. Place the dripper onto your cup and your filter paper into the dripper
2. Rinse the filter paper with hot water
3. Grind your coffee if not preground
4. Discard the hot water inside your cup
5. Put the ground coffee inside the filter paper
6. Add some hot water to the coffee and wait 30 – 45 seconds – this is called letting the coffee bloom
7. Slowly add the rest of the water to the coffee, ideally in a circular motion in the center of the brew
8. Once your cup is filled discard the filter and enjoy your coffee

 

French Press instructions

  • Grind Size: Coarse
  • Taste: More body, less clarity
  • Preparation Time: 5 minutes
  • Preferred coffees: Darker roasts
  • Coffee to Water Ratio: 7-10g per 100ml water
  • Tip: Since coffee made with French Press is more heavy bodied, it will taste nice with a bit of warm milk mixed in

1. Put the coarsely ground coffee into the French Press
2. Add hot water but make sure not to fill the glass up all the way
3. Slowly stir the brew for about 5 seconds
4. Put the Cover on and submerge the filter just below the surface, to keep the ground coffee underneath the surface
5. Wait 3 – 5 minutes
6. Slowly lower the filter
7. Pour and enjoy

 

Italian Stovetop (Moka Pot) instructions

  • Grind Size: Fine
  • Taste: Strong, intense, slightly similar to espresso
  • Preparation Time: About 3 – 6 minutes depending on size
  • Preferred coffees: Medium-dark or dark roasts
  • Coffee to Water Ratio: Preset, cannot change
  • Tip: Very popular in Italy, it makes a strong coffee that is great with hot milk
1. Take the moka pot apart
2. Loosely fill up the filter in the middle with coffee and level it off with a knife
3. Fill the bottom with water until below the safety valve
4. Screw everything together
5. Put the pot onto a medium-high heat source and wait until the coffee is ready
6. Always clean your moka pot after using it

 

Steep & Release instructions 

  • Grind Size: Medium
  • Taste: Balanced body and clean flavor
  • Preparation Time: 4-5 minutes from the first pour
  • Preferred coffees: All roasts
  • Coffee to Water Ratio: 8-12g per 100ml water
  • Tip: Very consistent and easy way to make coffee at home, becoming very popular
1. Place the brewer onto your cup and your filter paper into the brewer
2. Rinse the filter paper with hot water
3. Grind your coffee if not preground
4. Discard the hot water inside your cup and close the brewer
5. Put the ground coffee inside the filter paper
6. Add the desired amount of hot water into the brewer
7. Stir the coffee slowly for about 30 seconds
8. Cover the device
9. After 3 minutes open the brewer and stir the coffee again
10. Once your cup is filled discard the filter and enjoy your coffee
